Our annual Labor Awards Dinner has become one of the major labor events in the San Francisco Bay Area. It brings together key community, civic and labor leaders and serves as a unique point of contact for building and strengthening relationships.

This year our Guest of Honor will be Anna Burger, General Secretary-Treasurer, Service Employees International Union; with featured guest Robert Alvarado, Executive Officer, Northern California Carpenters Regional Council; Daniel Kane, Sr., President, Teamsters Union Local No. 111 (New York) and Eastern Regional International V. P.; Mike Borstel, President, United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 101; Cristina Vasquez, UNITE HERE International Vice President & Secretary-Treasurer, Western States Regional Joint Board; and Teamsters Joint Council 7.

We will Honor House Speaker Elect Nancy Pelosi, United States Congress (D-CA) 8th Congressional District, CA with our La Raza Congressional Leadership Award.

Since 1982, the Instituto Laboral de la Raza has been dedicated to serving the labor and family needs of the unorganized working poor. The Instituto's mission is to serve without charge the labor and social needs of all low income families, including immigrants and indigenous peoples.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that raises 33% of our annual operating budget from this important event.
