We work closely with community-based organizations, federal and state agencies, law firms, and labor unions to assure that all client issues are effectively served directly through this collaborative network.

LEGAL SERVICES

Legal Advocacy and Mediation of unpaid wages and other benefits owed to Workers.

Full Referral Services of all issues that place Low Income Families at risk including:

Consultation and Paralegal Services In Support of Expert Legal Referrals.

Injury Cases in the Workplace (Workers Comp), medical care and benefits.

All other Injury Cases suffered by Workers and Non-Workers alike.

Discrimination, Harassment, and Wrongful Termination of Workers (Race, sex, age, pregnancy, and language).

Unfair labor practices.

Immigration law related to employment and labor.


REFERRAL SERVICES TO OTHER COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS

Job Training and Placement Services.

Children and Family Services.

Immigration Services.

Elder Services (social and legal services for seniors).

Emergency Services (Food, Shelter, Medical Care, Sustaining funds).

Alcohol and Substance Abuse.


SPECIAL SERVICES

Day Labor Program Outreach On Site (All Programs, Served Weekly and On Site
The Day Labor Program is a weekly early morning outreach on site along the streets of low income communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The Day Labor Program reaches out to help poor people looking for work in open-air curbside sites, or in front of visible markets such as empty lots, street corners, parking lots, designated public spaces or the store fronts of home improvement establishments where the working poor solicit daily work primarily during the early morning hours.

The Day Labor Program provides the same full range of services as listed above.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

Labor Rights Education of Workers, in-office and outreach into the Community.

Job readiness training.

Leadership training.

Workplace rights seminars.

Union rights and job opportunities in organized labor.


OTHER SERVICES

Translations and research.

Basic office skills.

 

Currently into our 24th year, our direct services and broad-based educational outreach have benefited some 60,000 people. We are available to clients on a drop-in basis, and are proud to serve without fee. Your workplace donation will support our efforts to ensure the rights of low-income minority workers.
